People are saying this and that about the market. But I have to let you know, the last two houses I listed that the sellers were willing to listen and price the home correctly both sold in less than a month. Most of the homes on the market that just sit there month after month are either overpriced or un-prepared to sell. Knowing your market and how to market a home are the reason people need a realtor to get their home sold and get the best price in a short period of time. Sitting on a home and making mortgage payments for months can reduce the take-home more than pricing it right and getting it sold quicklly, many times I have found.
